Every year, Pit Bull Terriers are responsible for the death of 3 people.
40 children a year drown in 5 gallon water pails. In your lifetime, you are almost 14 times more likely to drown in a 5 gallon water pail then be killed by a Pit Bull.
Pit Bulls were known as the number 1 family dog in the 20th century. But the very same qualities that make this breed such a wonderful pet are also valued by those who use them as fighting dogs, training them in brutal methods, some even going as far as to sew bottle caps under the dogs skin to ensure they're in constant pain, to make them more aggresive.
150 people a year are killed by falling coconuts, making you 50 times more likely to be killed by a palm tree then by a Pit Bull.
Pit Bull puppies, ones that have never fought before, are often killed because their parents were fighters.

According to the American Canine Temperament Testing Association, 82.5% of the American Pit Bull Terriers that took the temperament test passed, compared to a 77% passing rate for all breeds on average. In the test, a dog is placed in a series of confrontational situations. The first sign of aggression or panic is a failure of the test. Pit Bulls have achieved the fourth highest passing rate of all 122 breeds tested.
It is more then half a million times more likely that a human will kill a Pit Bull, then the other way around.
For every Pit Bull that kills, there are 10.5 million that don't.
Most Pit Bulls are killed by their owners because they REFUSE TO FIGHT in dogfights.
So millions of Pit Bulls are being blamed for the actions of .94% of the breed.

Can you judge a dog by a Breed?
Believe it or not, but dog groomers tend to be a pretty good judge of character when it comes to dogs. It makes sense, really. Why?
1. If you don't know dog language, you're far more likely to get bit.
-Miss a warning sign, you get bit. Pretty simple. More often than not, dogs show plenty of signs of agitation prior to biting and if you aren't picking up on those to avoid a bite, you're far more likely to get bit.
2. It makes you a better groomer.
-If you do understand dog language, you can understand the difference between aggression and fear. Fear is something that can be often worked through with lots of patience and time. Unde

Pitbulls...On the sight you lok at them you think their vicious...
Yes...No?
Maybe this short story will tell you the truth...
Pitbulls are born as regular dogs...The dog is only as vicious as the owner.
And making the dogs fight is wrong...And will encourage viciousness.
But as i said once you look at a dog you imedeiatly thinks its vicious.
Please tell me what is your thinking of a pit bull?
Vicious? Nice? Friendly?
All of theese are expressions but what really tells you its a mean animal.
Nothing but their trust...Theese animals need our help and love.
Pass this on...

In the Eyes of a Pit Bull
I am telling you my story behind the bars of a jail. The evil stares I get for listening to my owner I thought cared about me. I ended up with only tragedy accumulating in my thoughts. I don't understand the human language, but one thing I do understand is my dog instincts. I remember I was put in the arena. It smelt of past bloody battles. I remember the brutal training my owner ceased upon me yet I do not understand nor like this gory sport. I had an opponent twice my size. The jaws of the beast before my eyes were enormous as they clamped down on my wrinkly skin. The pain was excruciating. It shot not only up my leg, but through my body. I

I love Pit Bulls. I want to become an activist for them. They don't deserve to die. They most CERTAINLY don't deserve to be in dog fights, either. They're capable of love and compassion. You just need to give them a chance.
I get yelled at by students for several reasons at school. For liking Queen, for not being like the majority of students, and for loving Pit Bulls.
One day, I want to be able to say 'I love Freddie Mercury' without being made fun of. I want to wear my leopard print jacket and mini skirt without being laughed at. I want to be able to hug a Pit Bull without being yanked away from it, and having to listen to a lecture from people, that Pit Bulls are dangerous.
Pit Bulls aren't vicious if you give them a chance. Just reach out to the Pit Bulls. They need you.
"Show me what it's like,
To be the last one standing!
And teach me wrong from right,
And I'll show you what I can be!
And say it for me,
Say it to me,
And I'll leave this life behind me!
Say it if it's worth savin' me!
Hurry, I'm fallin'!"

New York has started training pitbulls to be police dogs. They said it worked out perfectly because you can just find them in shelters and gtg them for fifty bucks instead of buying pure bred German Shepard that cost thousands. Pittys are also food motivated so it works out perfectly! The only problem they were having; it's impossible to train a pitbull to be aggressive towards people, as they are the most loving kind creatures on this planet.
