The Cleary Kids: Intro Chapter
It was a normal day in Seattle; cold and rainy. Jackie and Skye Cleary were in the front yard, staring at the sky with a blank expression.
"It's cold and rainy," said Jackie, nodding. She sighed and flung herself backwards into the grass. She scrunched up her nose. "I fell in the mud."
Their little sister, Peyton walked by, picking up a flute that was laying on the pavement outside their house. "That's not mud," she said matter-of-factly. "That's--"
"CRUUUUDDDD!!! Ewwwww!!!" Jackie jumped up and retched. "I think I'm gonna barf."
Peyton stared at her, holding her flute close to her body. "Not on my flute."

"Miss Whitte?" questioned a small voice. The voice that was known too well by the teachers, and the counselor, and the dean and the principal and a minority of the high school populationDanielle Parker's voice.
Mrs. Whitte turned away from Mrs. Wallace, who she had been talking to and smiled. Her eyes looked slightly red, but she had a big smile on her face.
"Hello, Danny. I thought you left right after the ceremony." She stared through half-closed eyes, a slight smirk playing at her lips.
Danny blinked. "I did sorta. But I wanted to say goodbye." Her voice squeaked and she smiled weakly. "Have you been crying, too?"
"Me? Cry?
She kneeled in the grass, staring out at the large fluffy gray clouds that seemed to wrap around the horizon, seemingly making the blue sky fade away and be devoured by the gray.
She absentmindedly played with the soft green blades, twirling them gently around her fingers before gently moving her thin, pale hands onto her lap.
The wind rustled the leaves suddenly, going from gentle to rough in less then 3 seconds. Her long, dark brown hair fluttered behind her as she continued to stare into the distance.
The trees bent dangerously and her hair was being flipped in all directions, smacking against the side of her face, or even in her face,
